Paying for Documentation

Each original document (document in English) must be legalised by both the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the UK prior to departure.
Once the documents have been returned to you by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office you must send them to the Consular Section of this Embassy to be legalised and translated.

By using the online payment facility below you will be able to pre-pay for the legalisation and translation of your documents. For a list of requirements for marriage in the Dominican Republic, click here.

How to pay online to legalise your documents for a wedding in the Dominican Republic:

1. From the following drop down menus, choose which original documents you will send for legalisation

2. From the following drop down menus, choose which original documents you need translated and certified.
NOTE: Since all documents must be translated, you should have the same number of documents as above.

3. From the following drop down menus, choose which translated documents you will send to us for certification.

IMPORTANT: If you have used a commercial translator to translate your documents into Spanish, they will still need to be certified by us. If you have sent your documents to us for translation using step 2 please skip this step.

Once your payment has been authorised, please make a note of the confirmation ID number and print the payment status page. You must send the confirmation number along with your documents when you post your documents to us for processing and use it if you need to contact us with a question about your documents.

Documents should be posted to the address below along with a pre-paid Recorded/Special delivery envelope. We strongly recommend you send your documents by Recorded/Special delivery as the Embassy cannot be held liable for any document lost in the post:

Please include the name, address and telephone number of the cardholder if this is different from the names found on the documents.

A handling fee of 3% is added to your total ammount.
